Beyond The Basics

Important Tips covers everything past your first day. Class-specific build calls, cart and relic priorities, the Mysterious NPC rule, shop refresh cadence, Arena strategy, and the launch storefront spending order. Read top to bottom, or jump to whichever section your account is at.

Class And Build Calls

  • Sage has one viable build: Dark. Light Sorcerer is a PvP-only pick. Summoner and Healer builds are not viable in the current global patch.
  • Duelist is the safe popular pick. Most of the playerbase is rolling it. Knight works fine and stays in demand because tanks will be rare in group content.
  • F2P cannot afford two elements. Relics only grant 10-15% element boost, so splitting affinity costs serious damage and slows your skill-level focus. Pick one element and finish it.

Cart Upgrades

The cart produces overlapping resources to the dungeons plus equipment and beast feed. Upgrade priority by production tier:

Cart production priority
Top priority Wood + Stone. Upgrade nearly everything else in the game. Cheapest payout, longest shelf life. Upgrade these first regardless of class.
Always in demand Chrono Sand + Raw Ore. Feed cart and stamina recipes. Never go to waste.
Conditional Rolla. Priority scales with how aggressively you shop refresh. If you are running 3+ refreshes per day, push Rolla up. If not, leave it.
Lower priority Battle Essence + Basic Treats. Both have alternate sources (dungeon drops, Treasury). Cart is not the bottleneck for either.

Focus principle. Pick a cart strategy and stick to it. The resources you focus on should sit roughly 20-30% higher than the others throughout the season. Even cart leveling spreads payout thin and never breaks any one bottleneck.

If you have specific class targets (e.g. you know you are committing to Sorcerer and need more attack-type Fantomon feed), tilt the focused 20-30% gap toward the matching feed type.

Fantomon Investment Rules

Fantomons unlock at level 50 and are the largest non-gear power spike in Cinder Ridge. The trap is treating them as a single pool. Three rules decide whether your investment compounds or gets wasted.

  • Main stat slot is not the same as combat slot. The main stat slot gives 100% of a Fantomon's stat block. The three sub-slots give 50%. The remaining collection gives 20%. Put your rarest Fantomon in the main stat slot. The combat-side deployment is a separate decision and should match the role you are playing.
  • Keep deployed Fantomons leveled evenly. Resonance applies the lowest level among your four deployed Fantomons to the rest of your collection. A roster at 50/50/50/20 effectively scales as if every collection bonus is at level 20. Bring the floor up before pushing the ceiling.
  • Mythic evolution needs three copies total. Aegiswing and Nyxarchon cost 60 Bond Trinkets per copy. The trap: a single Mythic caps at level 100. Reaching level 108 requires 120 dupe shards — that's 2 duplicate copies on top of the base, so 3 copies total = 180 Bond Trinkets. Budget for the full 180 before committing, not 60.

Useful Fantomons by role. Knight: Boaro (shields) and Armopi (tanking). Duelist / Sorcerer AoE clear: Falko or Zeioletus. Sage: Mandragora (healing) and Herbote (cleanse). Universal pick when enemies stack buffs: Kels (dispel).

Relics And Resonance

F2P players will get all blue and purple relics for roughly 70% of the Verdantglade relic pool. Paid players should pick up orange (Mythic) and below for roughly 90% coverage. If you can pick a selectable Mythic relic, Duelist / Sorcerer / Sage take Critical Rate. Knight takes Block Rate.

Resonance. Each element resonates with four relics. Upgrade all four of one element to the same level and every non-resonant relic of that element jumps in level at the same time. Do not spread upgrades across multiple elements. Pick one and finish it.

Class element priority:

  • Duelist: Fire or Dark
  • Knight: Water or Light
  • Sorcerer: Light or Fire
  • Sage: Dark

Hero's Guide relic. Unlocks on the Stellaris Path — either via voucher spends or direct pack purchases. Boosts your experience gain and resonates with other relics for an additional 20% bonus. The closest thing to a hard pay-to-progress wall in Verdantglade, and the EXP curve compounds across every kingdom that follows.

Daily Dungeons (Quick Reference)

Daily Dungeons are the primary source of Gear and Gear Shards. Two free runs per day, plus two F2P-accessible paid refreshes at 100 and 150 Dawnium. Runs bank up to a cap of 6, so the real play is to stack runs and save Dawnium, then burst the moment the next dungeon unlocks to grab an early lead on its gear. Once gear actually matters (Verdantglade → Cinder Ridge transition), the four-run mid-spender ladder is the cleanest Dawnium spend in the game.

  • Ranking is based on how far you reach. Not which nodes you pick. Optimise your route to reach the boss instead of cherry-picking "safer" nodes.
  • Dismantle old dungeon shards the moment a new dungeon unlocks. Previous-dungeon shards lose their sell value as soon as the replacement opens. They are dismantle-only after that.
  • Material dungeon refresh ladder. F2P / light spender 2/2/2/2 daily. Mid spender 4/2/4/4 (the 2 sits on whichever material your class needs least). $1,000/mo 6/6/6/6. $3,000/mo 8/8/8/8. $5,000/mo or season-title chasers 10/10/10/10.
  • Runs bank up to 6. F2P bank-and-burst: skip 4 attempts across slow days, then buy 2 paid refreshes on a burst day. Cap is hard at 6 — overflow is lost.

Shop Refresh Schedule

  • Before Aqualis opens: F2P refresh once per day, buy out the shop.
  • During Loong Haven: refresh twice, buy out.
  • After Loong Haven opens: only buy items at 80% off, refresh up to three times.
  • Whales: scale refresh count to your Mystery Realm material total. Bigger stash, more refreshes.

Mysterious NPC: Primal Forge Only

The day after Chaos Invasion ends, a Mysterious NPC appears in your Home. You can spend Chaos Crystals at their shop. ONLY buy the Primal Forge. Nothing else. This rule applies to every player regardless of spending level.

  • Do not buy anything else. Every other item in the shop is a trap at this point in the kingdom.
  • Upgrade Primal Forge all the way to Immortal. Anything less and the crystals are wasted on a temporary tier.
  • If you cannot afford it: save your Chaos Crystals, kick out the NPC, and continue exchanging next cycle. Do not panic-spend on alternates.

Why so strict. Primal Forge is the only Chaos shop item that compounds across kingdoms. Every other purchase is replaced or made obsolete by Cinder Ridge rewards, so spending on them sets your account back.

Arena Ticket Strategy

PvP refresh is weekly. The week resets the climb, which lets early-week pushes grab high ranks before whale-tier rosters lock the top in place.

  • Day 1 of a new week: dump all 20 saved tickets immediately. Everyone else is still climbing. You grab a high rank and earn free daily diamonds for the rest of the week.
  • After week 1, stop fighting. Rankings lock by power. Save tickets for the next reset.
  • Buying extra tickets in one day costs more Dawnium per ticket. Maximum profit means buying close to zero tickets after week 1.

Spending Order If You Open Your Wallet

Best value to worst value across the launch storefront.

  • Monthly card. Best low-spend value. Boosts AFK gains and EXP.
  • Month Fund. Second-best.
  • Weekly Card. Third.
  • Pop-up packs. Last. Avoid unless you specifically need the contents.

Vouchers vs VIP points. Vouchers convert directly to money-equivalent value. VIP points only credit when you actually spend, so do not stockpile vouchers expecting the VIP track to catch up.

Long-Game Pitfalls

  • Do not reroll. Names are unique and there is no reroll benefit baked into the game.
  • Do not over-level or over-upgrade early. Past certain thresholds, power resets at season end. Only permanent currency (Astral) carries forward. F2P has effectively zero shot at season 1 rank, so relax and learn the systems instead of grinding.
  • New job advancements come with their own premium skill pulls. Each new job opens a pseudo-banner that only feeds the new pool, so save pulls ahead of each new job tier.
  • Affection caps at 1000 per week on summons. Overflow still accumulates as profile hearts but you cannot carry leftover affection into the next week's claim.
