Wuthering Waves
OverviewEden of Gaming covers Wuthering Waves, the open-world action gacha from Kuro Games. This EOG.GG hub is the whole package for the Version 3.4 meta: the Resonator tier list across every role, the best quickswap and hypercarry teams, an interactive region atlas, a Convene pity tracker with real 50/50 odds, the Waveplate planner, an Echo scorer, live codes, and a full systems guide.
Wuthering Waves is the action-combat benchmark of the gacha space. Two years in, the swap-combo ceiling is still the highest in the genre, the map is genuinely fun to traverse, and Kuro's generosity, from free Beginner's Choice picks to a weapon banner with no 50/50, keeps it friendly to build wide. EOG's read: if you enjoy execution over stat-checking, this is the one to main.

Game at a glance
How it plays
Quickswap Concerto combat
Real-time action where you chain three Resonators together. Filling Concerto Energy and swapping fires an Outro on the way out and an Intro on the way in, stacking buffs into one carry. The best players never stop swapping.
Echoes, the monster gear
Defeated monsters become Echoes: your gear. Each has a Cost of 1, 3, or 4, a main stat, up to five Tuned substats, and a Sonata set bonus at 2, 3, or 5 pieces. A team runs 12 total Cost, usually a 4-3-3-1-1 layout.
Attributes over reactions
Six attributes: Aero, Glacio, Fusion, Electro, Spectro, and Havoc. There is no universal reaction wheel like Genshin. Damage comes from attribute-percent buffs and Sonata effects, so mono-attribute and quickswap cores both work.
Waveplate and endgame
Waveplate is the daily stamina you spend on Tacet Fields and Forgeries. Endgame rotates the Tower of Adversity, Whimpering Wastes, the Depths of Illusive Realm roguelike, and the hardest mode, Endstate Matrix.

What's new
Resonator Tier List
EOG analysis for the Version 3.4 meta, cross-checked against Prydwen and Game8. Wuthering Waves teams are three Resonators, so a top-tier carry still needs the right sub-DPS and sustain to hit these ceilings. Every unit listed clears current content; tiers rank how efficiently, not what is usable.

Convene Pity Tracker
Base 5-star rate is 0.8%, climbing sharply once soft pity kicks in at 66 and guaranteed at 80. Enter your pity and saved Astrite to see your real odds and how far you are from a guaranteed featured copy.
You can afford 0 convenes (0 convenes + 0 Astrite). 160 short of the guarantee.
Odds use a soft-pity ramp model, so they are a close estimate, not the exact hidden table. The 50/50 means your first 5-star has a 50% chance of being the featured Resonator; lose it and the next 5-star is a guaranteed featured copy. 160 Astrite equals one convene.

Waveplate Planner
Waveplate caps at 240 and regenerates 1 point every 6 minutes. Enter what you have to see when it fills and how many runs you can afford, so you never overflow the cap.
Each Crystal Solvent restores 60 Waveplate. Spend it before it overflows: capped regen is the single biggest daily loss for free-to-play accounts.

How many useful substats did it roll with?
Is it an upgrade over your equipped Echo?
Are you short on upgrade materials right now?

Attributes & Sonata Sets
The quick reference: the six attributes and the meta Sonata sets to build around.
The six attributes
Wind damage. Strong on Erosion and quickswap carries.
Ice damage. The Concerto-loop hypercarry element.
Fire damage. Mono-Fusion burst is a Tower staple.
Electro damage. Coordinated-attack and heavy-attack carries.
Diffraction damage. Frazzle and Tune-Break hypercarries.
Havoc damage. On-field and off-field Echo-skill carries.
Meta Sonata sets
The current Glacio damage set (added 3.3).
The Aero damage set for wind carries.
The Spectro damage set.
The Havoc damage set.
Resonance Skill damage, strong on skill-focused kits.
ATK and Tune-Break, built for swap teams (added 3.3).
Turns an Outro into a team ATK buff. A support staple.
Converts healing into a team ATK buff for healers.
Rewards coordinated-attack and off-field damage teams.
Sonata effects trigger at 2, 3, and 5 pieces. A team runs 12 total Echo Cost, usually a 4-3-3-1-1 layout, so plan your set around the single Cost 4 headline Echo. There is no universal reaction wheel; damage comes from attribute-percent buffs and these set effects.

Guides
The exhaustive EOG guides for the Version 3.4 meta: a day-one roadmap, reroll advice, the Echo and Sonata deep-dive, the endgame breakdown, and how to plan your Convene pity. Pick a guide below.
The day-one roadmap: what to build first, why the Data Bank matters, and how to spend Waveplate.
Your first week
Push the main story to unlock systems and bank free Astrite; aim for Union Level 30 in the first week or two. The story gates your Waveplate cap, your Echo systems, and most of your early pull currency.
Build one DPS, one healer, and one buffer before you spread resources. Verina fits every team as a healer and ATK buffer, so she is the safe first investment alongside your main carry.
Level the Data Bank early
The Data Bank is the single most important early system. Leveling it raises the drop rate and the rarity of the Echoes you absorb across every region. A higher Data Bank means better gear from the same farming, so feed it Echoes as you explore.
What to level, in order
- Character level and ascension on your main DPS, then Verina.
- The Forte (skill tree) on your DPS: Resonance Skill and Liberation first.
- A weapon that matches the DPS role; the battle-pass weapon is a fine stopgap.
- Echoes: a Cost 4 main-stat piece first, then Cost 3s, then the Sonata set.
Spend Waveplate daily
Waveplate caps at 240 and refills 1 point every 6 minutes, filling from empty in about a day. Spend it on Tacet Fields for Echo experience and Sonata materials, and on Forgery Challenges for weapon and skill materials. Do not let it overflow; capped regen is the biggest daily loss for a free-to-play account. The Waveplate Planner in Tools tells you exactly when you cap.
Whether rerolling is worth it in Wuthering Waves, and the best Beginners Choice pick.
Should you reroll?
Generally no. There is no guest login, so each attempt needs a fresh email and takes 30 to 60 minutes. More importantly, limited 5-stars cannot be pulled on the beginner banner at all, so you cannot reroll for the newest units. The game also gives you a guaranteed standard 5-star and a Beginners Choice selector for free.
Best Beginners Choice pick
| Pick | Why |
|---|---|
| Verina | The top pick. A universal healer and ATK buffer that works in every team, forever. |
| Encore | The best free early-game solo carry if you want a DPS first. |
| Calcharo | A strong free Electro carry for players who like aggressive melee. |
| Jiyan | A reliable Aero Broadblade carry and a safe long-term investment. |
Just start playing
The free roster plus a Beginners Choice pick clears all early content. Save your Astrite for a limited Resonator you actually want rather than burning hours on rerolls that cannot even reach the current banner.
How the Echo gear system works: Cost budgeting, main stats, Tuning, and the Sonata sets that matter now.
The Cost budget
Echoes are gear you absorb from defeated monsters. Each has a Cost of 1, 3, or 4, and a full loadout runs 12 total Cost, almost always a 4-3-3-1-1 layout. The single Cost 4 is your headline Echo (its active skill and main stat define the build); the two Cost 3s and two Cost 1s fill in stats and the Sonata set.
Main stats to chase
| Slot | Main stat |
|---|---|
| Cost 4 | Crit Rate or Crit DMG for a DPS; Healing Bonus for a healer. |
| Cost 3 | Attribute DMG Bonus, or Energy Regen on a support. |
| Cost 1 | Flat or percent ATK, HP, or DEF as a small filler. |
Tuning and sub-stats
Each Echo has up to five sub-stats unlocked and rolled through Tuning, which costs Tuners and Shell Credits. Crit Rate, Crit DMG, ATK%, and Energy Regen are the universal winners. Tune to the first checkpoint, keep a piece that rolls two good stats early, and feed the rest. The Echo Scorer in Tools gives a quick keep-or-feed verdict.
Sonata sets that matter now
- Wishes of Quiet Snowfall (Glacio) and Frosty Resolve (Skill DMG) for the ice carries.
- Windward Pilgrimage (Aero) and Reel of Spliced Memories (ATK and Tune-Break) for Aero and swap teams.
- Eternal Radiance (Spectro) and Midnight Veil (Havoc) for their element carries.
- Moonlit Clouds (Outro buff) and Rejuvenating Glow (healing to ATK) for supports and healers.
- Empyrean Anthem for coordinated-attack teams.
The endgame modes, how often they reset, and what each rewards.
The modes
| Mode | What it is |
|---|---|
| Tower of Adversity | The abyss. Stable, Experimental, and Overdrive zones are permanent; the Hazard Zone rotates on a 28-day cycle. One team of three per stage. |
| Whimpering Wastes | A score and horde mode with 2-minute stages. Needs two teams of three, so six unique Resonators. |
| Depths of Illusive Realm | A permanent roguelike with rotating themes. Weekly rewards up to twelve times, reset Mondays. |
| Endstate Matrix | The hardest mode. Needs five to six built teams and resets once per patch for about 400 Astrite. |
How to prepare
- The Hazard Zone rotates every 28 days, so build toward its modifiers when they refresh.
- Whimpering Wastes needs roster depth: six Resonators across two teams, not one super-team.
- Endstate Matrix rewards the widest account, so keep several teams battle-ready.
- The Illusive Realm roguelike is the most forgiving; clear it weekly for steady Astrite.
How Convene pity works and how to budget Astrite so you land the Resonators you want.
How pity works
| Banner | Rules |
|---|---|
| Character | 80 hard pity, soft pity from ~66, 50/50 on the featured 5-star. Lose it and the next 5-star is guaranteed featured. Pity carries between limited banners. |
| Weapon | 80 hard pity, no 50/50. The featured 5-star weapon is 100% guaranteed. |
| Standard | Its own separate pity; limited pity never carries to it. |
Budget before you pull
One Convene costs 160 Astrite, so roughly 12,800 Astrite guarantees a 5-star at hard pity, or about 25,600 covers a lost 50/50 into the guarantee. Because the weapon banner has no 50/50, weapon pulls are far more predictable than in most gacha games; a signature weapon is a flat 80-pull cost at worst.
Use the Convene Pity Tracker in Tools for your real odds, and the Banner Timeline to see when the units you want arrive.
Discipline rules
- Carry-over pity means nothing is wasted by waiting, so only pull when you are sure.
- Resonance Chains (dupes) and signature weapons are luxuries; a Resonator works fully at S0.
- Skip banners with no target and bank the Astrite for a two-patch guaranteed pull.
Master the swap. Top the Tower.
