The best multiplicative damage increase and a very rare line from Weapon - Sword. Around x1.4 to x1.5 Max Attack in the current Breakthrough; late game it scales to x1.5 to x2.0.
Build Guide
Nameless is a DPS class that releases charged waves to damage enemy players. It is the best class for GvG DPS and is essential for any serious guild climbing the ladder.
GvG is a different game from PvE in Where Winds Meet, but it shares its gear and positioning fundamentals with team-based PvP such as 3v3, Perception Forest, and Group Strategy (3, 4, and 5-player).
Gear Sets
Always go for a 4-set piece (2-set for bow) to unlock the max gear passives.
Weapon Sets
Hawkwing![]() | A good set, especially if you have not hit the 40% Affinity Rate threshold. The +3.7% Affinity Rate and 10% Physical Attack increase on Affinity hits is solid. |
Jadeware![]() | Stronger now, but it needs attention to keep the buff uptime. Use it if you hit the Affinity Rate threshold and can consistently weave your Martial Art skill (Q) from Sword or Spear into your rotation. If you cannot keep that up, stay in Hawkwing. |
Armor Sets
Calmwaters![]() | Gain a small amount of Endurance and HP back on Perfect Dodge, with no cooldown. The easiest armor set to use and a good general PvP set. |
Whirlsnow![]() | Strong GvG set that helps you avoid getting wiped every 60 seconds by coordinated guilds. It triggers when you lose more than 40% Max HP in one hit or drop below 20% HP: the next heal within 5 seconds restores an extra 25% of Max HP (60-second cooldown). GvG healers can drop Panacea Fan EX to counter Tank EX plus Nameless burst wipes. |
Third Armor Option![]() | Another easy armor set to run, but the other two have better passives. It was viable in GvG Season 1 and has fallen off since the Whirlsnow set effect arrived. |
Bow Sets
| Pursuing Shadow Set | +1.8% Affinity Rate. Use if you need more Affinity Rate, otherwise take the critical option. |
| Startling String Set | +3.7% Critical Rate. Use if you are at 40% or more Affinity Rate. |
Optimal Initial Stats (Tier 91)
A gold initial line is best, and a purple initial line is serviceable. When rerolling substats there is a chance to roll a duplicate of that gear's initial stat, which helps optimize your desired stats. Some gear types have specific initial stats; if a slot is not listed below, it is not an ideal piece to roll.
Initial Stat Priority by Slot
| Weapon - Sword | Max Physical Attack > Momentum (if threshold maxed) |
| Weapon - Spear | Max Physical Attack > Momentum (if threshold maxed) |
| Disc | Max Physical Attack |
| Pendant | Max Physical Attack |
| Helmet | Affinity Rate > Critical Rate |
| Chestpiece | Affinity Rate > Critical Rate |
| Greaves (Legs) | Power > Affinity Rate (if threshold maxed) > Critical Rate |
| Bracer (Arms) | Power > Affinity Rate (if threshold maxed) > Critical Rate |
Important Stats & Substats

The best multiplicative damage increase and a very rare line from Weapon - Sword. Around x1.4 to x1.5 Max Attack in the current Breakthrough; late game it scales to x1.5 to x2.0.

Affinity chance is capped at 40% (orange number). Affinity attacks deal more damage based on your Max Physical Attack. More Max Phys means more Affinity damage.

Each Momentum = 0.9 Max Physical Attack + 0.038% Affinity Rate, and it boosts the Physical Attack of Nameless Sword Martial Arts. Always hit the threshold with every Breakthrough. At Level 95 the Momentum threshold is 225.
Increases the maximum damage of your Physical Attack. The most important stat after hitting the Affinity Rate and Momentum thresholds. Aim for at least one Max Physical Attack on every gear piece, two if you can get it as an initial stat.
Each Power = 1.36 Max Physical Attack + 0.225 Min Physical Attack. A good line, but Max Physical Attack gives more value per stat.

Increases all damage by a percentage. Can only roll on Greaves and Bracers, stacks together, and is a fairly rare line.

Similar to Boost Vs. Player Units but applies in both PvE and PvP. Can only roll on Disc and Pendant, stacks, and is a fairly rare line.

Critical chance is capped at 80% (orange number). Critical attacks deal 50% more damage and are affected by Precision.

Precision chance is capped at 100% (orange number). You only want a little of this: when Precision hits it becomes either a Critical or an Affinity, and you usually want Affinity.
Attribute attacks add damage but less than Physical Attack. Max Bellstrike is the best of the Attribute attacks.

Minimum attribute lines from another class give a small, consistent damage gain, better than a Max Attribute Attack of another class. The minimum becomes the new maximum, so there is no damage fluctuation, whereas a Max Attribute Attack ranges from 0 to its total. Example: this Stonesplit Attack ranges 0 to 36 damage while the Bamboocut is a constant 34.
Dead stat for Nameless Sword. Do not get it.
Gear Affixes
The affixes below are the gold versions. Purple versions are viable, but golds give the best value.
Recommended Affixes by Slot
Innerways
Must-haves

The number one Inner for GvG Nameless. Run it at least at Tier 4, or triple charged sword waves are hard to execute consistently. Tier 6 lets you chain two triple waves back to back without charging the second, raising your DPS.

A solid, generic DPS-increasing Inner.

Passively grants Affinity Rate and Affinity Damage Bonus. A strong damage boost to your triple sword waves.
Interchangeable

Common for new and experienced Nameless players. Gives more endurance when using Spear Q (Martial Arts Skill) and an endurance discount at higher tiers.

Provides more damage than Mountain's Might and feels very strong during an ally Thundercry Blade EX. It was near-mandatory in GvG 1.0 but can now be swapped with Mountain's Might.
Viable

The update changed its passive from Max Bellstrike Attack and Bellstrike Penetration to Max Physical Attack and Physical Penetration. Only needs Tier 5, since Tier 6 does nothing for Nameless Sword. It raises Affinity Damage by 10% while you keep hitting, gives a 5% chance to reduce damage taken by 40%, and recovers a small amount of HP while attacking. A decent replacement for Morale Chant or Battle Anthem.

An okay Inner if Morale Chant is not maxed yet and you want to be a bit tankier or deal slightly more damage.
Mystic Skills
Essential Staples

Quintessential GvG Mystic Skill. Spam it off cooldown, or when you are low on endurance. The 3-second silence shuts down healing, Nameless waves, tank pulls, and more. It is also the only way to spread poison to enemies in GvG (from an ally Leaping Toad).

Crowd-control cleanse. Essential if you want to survive.

AoE damage that buffs your damage the farther you are from the enemy.

Reduces the endurance cost of dodging and all skills, including charged sword waves.

Closes the gap, dodges an attack, finishes a target, and most importantly heal-cuts.

Gap closer.

Get-out-of-jail card. Target an enemy to aim before casting. The AoE stun can be annoying, but do not rely on it as a damage source.
Viable / Situational

Taken on Offense to damage the enemy Goose over time. Defense Nameless players do not need it.

Defense breaker. Catches enemies off guard while you charge a sword wave and they start blocking.

Usually run by Tanks and Healers on the front line. Applies a damage-over-time poison debuff. You cannot spread poison with your own Toad into Lion's Roar in GvG; it must be applied by others.
This guide will be updated as the GvG meta evolves.
