Honkai: Star Rail
OverviewEden of Gaming covers Honkai: Star Rail, HoYoverse's turn-based space-fantasy RPG. This EOG.GG hub is the whole package for the Version 4.3 meta: the character tier list across every Path, the best teams, an interactive world atlas, a Warp pity tracker with real 50/50 odds, the Trailblaze Power planner, a relic scorer, live codes, and a full systems guide.
Honkai: Star Rail is the most polished turn-based gacha on the market, and the 4.x Planarcadia arc is its most confident. The Path and Break systems give team-building real depth, HoYo's generosity keeps pity within reach, and the endgame rotation stays fresh every patch. EOG's read: if you want a story-first, build-deep gacha you can play at your own pace, this is the flagship.

Game at a glance
How it plays
Nine Paths, seven elements
Every character follows a Path (Destruction, Hunt, Erudition, Harmony, Nihility, Preservation, Abundance, and the newer Remembrance and Elation) that sets their role, and an element that decides which enemies they can Break.
Weakness Break
Hit an enemy's weakness to drain Toughness. At zero it is Weakness Broken: it takes Break damage, that element's status effect, and a delayed turn. Break damage cannot crit and scales with Break Effect, which is a whole build path of its own.
Light Cones and Relics
Light Cones are Path-locked weapons that only give their full passive to a matching Path. Relics are your gear: Cavern 4-piece sets plus Planar 2-piece Ornaments, each with a main stat and four substats leveled to +15.
Trailblaze Power and endgame
Trailblaze Power is the daily stamina you spend on relic and material domains. Endgame rotates Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction, Apocalyptic Shadow, and the permanent Anomaly Arbitration, now with a harder Starward layer for extra jade.

Warp Pity Tracker
Base 5-star rate is 0.6%, climbing sharply once soft pity kicks in at 74 and guaranteed at 90. Enter your pity and saved Stellar Jade to see your real odds and how far you are from a guaranteed featured copy.
You can afford 0 warps (0 warps + 0 Stellar Jade). 180 short of the guarantee.
Odds use a soft-pity ramp model, so they are a close estimate, not the exact hidden table. The 50/50 means your first 5-star has a 50% chance of being the featured 5-star; lose it and the next 5-star is a guaranteed featured copy. 160 Stellar Jade equals one warp.

Trailblaze Power Planner
Trailblaze Power caps at 300 and regenerates 1 point every 6 minutes. Enter what you have to see when it fills and how many runs you can afford, so you never overflow the cap.
Each Fuel restores 60 Trailblaze Power. Spend it before it overflows: capped regen is the single biggest daily loss for free-to-play accounts.

Is the main stat right for the slot and your build?
How many useful substats did it roll with?
Is it an upgrade over your equipped relic?
Are you short on upgrade materials right now?

Break, Elements & Paths
The quick reference: what each element does on Weakness Break, and what the nine Paths do.
Elements and Weakness Break
Break inflicts Bleed: damage over time scaling with the target max toughness.
Break inflicts Burn: steady fire damage over time.
Break Freezes the target: it cannot act and takes delayed damage.
Break inflicts Shock: lightning damage over time.
Break stacks Wind Shear: damage over time that can stack multiple times.
Break Entangles: delayed damage that scales with hits taken, plus action delay.
Break Imprisons: action delay and reduced SPD.
The nine Paths
Self-sustaining damage dealers with AoE and single-target flexibility.
Burst single-target killers, often with follow-up attacks.
Wave-clear specialists that shine in Pure Fiction.
Amplifiers: damage buffs, action advance, and energy.
Debuffs and damage-over-time, the core of DoT and Acheron teams.
Shielders and tanks that keep the team alive.
Healers and cleansers for sustained fights.
Deploys Memosprites, independent summoned allies (added 3.0).
Generates Punchlines and triggers the Aha Instant for bonus damage (added 4.0).
Break damage cannot crit and ignores generic damage-percent boosts; it scales with the target max toughness and your Break Effect stat. Hitting an enemy weakness is what drains toughness, so match your team elements to the content.

Guides
The exhaustive EOG guides for the Version 4.3 meta: a day-one roadmap, reroll advice, the relic and stat priorities, the endgame breakdown, and how to plan your Warp pity. Pick a guide below.
The day-one roadmap: what to build first, how to spend energy, and the milestones that unlock the rest of the game.
Your first week
Push the Trailblaze Mission (the main story) hard. It unlocks nearly every system, region, and free character in the game, and it hands out the bulk of your early Stellar Jade. Everything else is secondary until the story opens it up.
Pick one Main DPS and commit. Spreading materials across three half-built carries is the most common beginner mistake. Level one DPS, one sustain, and one support to your world level, and the early game falls over.
What to level, in order
- Character level and ascension to the current cap, on your main DPS first.
- The DPS basic, skill, ultimate, and talent traces. Ult and skill first.
- A Light Cone that matches the DPS Path (a matching Path gives the full passive).
- A simple 2-piece relic set for stats now; chase 4-piece later from Caverns.
- Your sustain and support just enough to survive and buff.
Raise your Equilibrium Level
Equilibrium Level is your account difficulty. Each Trial of Equilibrium raises the enemy level but, crucially, raises the rarity and drop tier of relics, Light Cones, and materials. Do them as they unlock. Farming relics below Equilibrium 6 is a waste; the good sub-stats start higher up.
Spend Trailblaze Power daily
Trailblaze Power caps at 300 and refills 1 point every 6 minutes, so it fills from empty in 30 hours. Overflow banks into Reserved Trailblaze Power (cap 2,400, slower regen), but the golden rule stands: log in and spend it before it caps. Early on, split it between the relic Cavern for your DPS and the Stagnant Shadow for ascension gems.
Use the Trailblaze Power Planner in Tools to see exactly when you cap.
Unlock the Simulated Universe
The Simulated Universe is a roguelite mode and the only source of Planar Ornaments (the 2-piece Sphere and Rope relics). It also grants permanent account-wide combat buffs through its Trailblaze Power tree. Clear the early Worlds as soon as they open.
Whether rerolling is worth it in HSR, and the standard-banner units to aim for if you do.
Should you reroll?
Usually not. Warp rates are low, a full reroll takes 1.5 to 2 hours (about 30 to 40 minutes just to unlock warping), and the game front-loads generosity: a guaranteed 5-star from the beginner Departure Warp and a 300-pull selector on the standard banner. For most players, starting a real account beats grinding rerolls.
Reroll only if you specifically want a particular standard 5-star early, or if you enjoy the process. You cannot reroll for the newest limited units anyway; they are not on the beginner banner.
Best standard-banner targets
| Unit | Why |
|---|---|
| Bronya | The only instant extra-turn enabler. Elevates almost any DPS. |
| Bailu | The only in-combat revive healer. Safety net for hard content. |
| Welt | Reliable Imaginary damage and crowd control, ages very well. |
| Himeko / Clara | Serviceable free DPS options if you want a carry now. |
Your free starter team
The Trailblazer, March 7th, Dan Heng, and Asta cover DPS, shield, sub-DPS, and buff out of the box. That team clears everything the early story asks of you, so there is no rush to pull. Save your Jade for a limited unit you actually want.
How relics, Ornaments, and sub-stats work, and the stat priorities that carry every build.
The two relic systems
Cavern Relics are 4-piece sets (Head, Hands, Body, Feet) with 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses, farmed from Caverns of Corrosion. Planar Ornaments are a separate 2-piece set (Planar Sphere and Link Rope) from the Simulated Universe. A finished build runs one Cavern 4-piece and one Ornament 2-piece.
Main stats by slot
| Slot | Main stat |
|---|---|
| Head | Flat HP (fixed). |
| Hands | Flat ATK (fixed). |
| Body | Crit Rate, Crit DMG, ATK%, Effect Hit Rate, or Healing, by role. |
| Feet | SPD for most units, or ATK% for slow bursters. |
| Planar Sphere | Elemental DMG% for a DPS, or ATK%/HP%/DEF% otherwise. |
| Link Rope | Energy Regen for supports, or Break Effect / ATK% for DPS. |
Sub-stat priority
For most damage dealers the order is Crit Rate and Crit DMG (toward a roughly 1:2 ratio), then SPD, then ATK%. Break-effect DPS like Firefly want Break Effect and SPD instead of crit. Supports want SPD and Energy Regen so their buffs and ults come up on time.
Each relic upgrades to +15, rolling a sub-stat every three levels. Use the Relic Scorer in Tools for a quick keep-or-feed verdict before you sink materials.
The SPD breakpoints
Speed is the most valuable stat in the game because it buys extra turns. Common targets are 134, 140, and 160 SPD depending on the unit and team. Even a few points of SPD can flip a turn order in your favor, so a SPD boot or a couple of SPD rolls often beats a small crit gain.
The four rotating endgame modes, what each rewards, and how to build for them.
The rotation
Endgame runs on a roughly six-week cadence with three-week refreshes. The four modes reward Stellar Jade and materials, and Version 4.3 added a harder Starward layer on top of three of them for 100 extra Jade per full clear.
The four modes
| Mode | Tests |
|---|---|
| Memory of Chaos | Two half-teams of four. Single-target and mixed DPS against elites and bosses. |
| Pure Fiction | Wave clear. Rewards AoE and follow-up units. Debuff-heavy buff cycles. |
| Apocalyptic Shadow | Boss burst and Break. Rewards Break Effect and toughness-draining teams. |
| Anomaly Arbitration | A permanent roster-depth mode. Needs 12 to 15 built characters. |
How to prepare
- Read the cycle buff. Each mode publishes a buff that favors a play style; build around it.
- You need two capable teams for Memory of Chaos and Pure Fiction, not one super-team.
- Break Effect investment pays off in Apocalyptic Shadow more than anywhere else.
- Roster depth beats a single whale unit for Anomaly Arbitration.
How Warp pity works and how to budget Stellar Jade so you land the units you want.
How pity works
| Banner | Rules |
|---|---|
| Character | 90 hard pity, soft pity from ~74, 50/50 on the featured 5-star. Pity and the guarantee carry between banners. |
| Light Cone | 80 hard pity, soft from ~65, 75/25 in favor of the featured cone. Separate counter. |
| Standard | Its own 90 pity, plus a 300-pull selector for one of seven standard 5-stars. |
Budget before you pull
One Warp costs 160 Stellar Jade, so roughly 14,400 Jade guarantees a 5-star at hard pity, or about 28,800 covers a lost 50/50 into the guarantee. A patch of steady free-to-play income (dailies, events, Simulated Universe, Nameless Honor, the Express Pass, and mail) lands in the 8,000 to 13,000 Jade range, so plan one guaranteed limited unit every one to two patches without spending.
Use the Warp Pity Tracker in Tools to turn your current pity and saved Jade into real odds, and the Pull Planning timeline to see when the units you want arrive.
Discipline rules
- Never pull below hard pity if you are not sure you want the unit; carry-over pity means nothing is wasted by waiting.
- Eidolons and signature Light Cones are luxuries. A unit at E0 with any matching cone is fully functional.
- Skip banners with no roadmap target and bank the Jade. Two-patch saving is how free-to-play accounts stay competitive.
Crew up. Clear the Chaos.
