Aion 2 global launch: September 2026
Exact day still to be announced. Live now in Korea and Taiwan. PC-first via Steam and NCSoft Purple.
Aion 2 is Eden of Gaming coverage for NCSoft Unreal Engine 5 MMORPG, a sequel set roughly 200 years after the original Aion with a world about 36 times larger and flight built into combat rather than bolted on. It is already live in Korea and Taiwan, and the PC-first global launch is set for September 2026. This EOG.GG hub tracks classes, aerial combat, and the open monetization question.

Early KR/TW reads
- PvE leans on Templar to tank, Cleric to heal, Sorcerer for AoE and burst, and Ranger for boss single-target.
- PvP early opinion favors Assassin for burst and mobility and Sorcerer for range and crowd control.
- These are third-party community trends, not official data, and aerial combat may reweight class value at global launch.
Beginner Guide
New to Aion 2? Start here for classes, flight, customization, and combat basics.
Pick a class
Choose one of the eight classes by the role you enjoy: tank, healer, support, or one of the melee, ranged, and caster damage styles. You can commit to a main and learn its skill chains rather than spreading thin early.
Flight is core
Flight is not a traversal gimmick. The world and its battlefields are designed around aerial movement, including underwater diving, and combat happens in the air as well as on the ground. Get comfortable fighting while airborne early.
Customization
Aion 2 ships with deep character customization, with reportedly 200 plus adjustable features, so expect to spend real time on your character before you set out.
Combat basics
Combat is action-oriented with skill chaining. Encounters escalate and reward adapting your rotation rather than repeating one opener, so learn your class core chain and its cooldowns.
Advanced Guide (provisional)
Based on the KR/TW version and subject to change at global launch. Endgame structures for global are not yet confirmed.
A light first pass on where Aion 2 goes past the early game.
Aerial combat
Every region and battlefield is designed around sky combat, so positioning in three dimensions, altitude control, and air-to-air engagement are skills to develop, not afterthoughts.
PvP and faction war
Faction conflict between Elyos, Asmodian, and the now-empowered Balaur drives open-world PvP. Expect large-scale and aerial engagements to define the endgame PvP loop.
Raids and endgame
Group PvE and raid content exist in the KR/TW build, but the exact global raid and endgame structure is unconfirmed. We will detail this once the global version is live.
Monetization Watch
The KR/TW launch drew heavy criticism. Treat any fair-monetization framing for global as a promise, not a verified outcome, until the global shop is live.
Aion 2 monetization is the open question for global players, so EOG.GG is tracking it directly.
What happened in KR/TW
The Korea and Taiwan launch was criticized for aggressive monetization, including subscriptions, battle passes, and shop items tied to power, alongside a bot problem. NCSoft publicly apologized, pulled some pay-for-power items, and pledged not to sell numerical combat-balance items.
How global is positioned
Global is being framed around memberships and cosmetics, with reports of no paid early-access power packs. Given the KR/TW track record, we are treating the fair-monetization claim as unproven until the global storefront actually opens.
